Spider-Man movies online

6 11 2007

I just discovered that you can buy videos thru Amazon to play on your TV thru TIVO or on your PC. So you know me I immediately went thru to find some comic book related ones to share. First is Spider-Man!!! Not only do they have all three movies Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, they have the highly underrated Spider-Man: The New Animated Series. Many people may remember that as MTV Spider-man. Only 13 episodes were made and you can get them all at Amazon.

What if? Planet Hulk

29 10 2007

No major crossover event at Marvel is complete until there is a What if? issue.

Official Press Release

As the summer’s biggest comic book event, World War Hulk, rages on, acclaimed writer behind it now turns his attentions to what could have been in What If? Planet Hulk. From Planet Hulk and World War Hulk author Greg Pak, artists Leonard Kirk, Rafa Sandoval and Fred Hembeck, comes this special extra-sized one-shot showing just how the year’s top selling event could have gone in three different paths! First, what if the Hulk had arrived at the intended destination of the Illuminati? Could this peaceful planet have tamed the savage Hulk? And then, what if Hulk died and his wife instead led the army against Earth? Finally, the one page story you demanded: what if Banner, not the Hulk, landed on Sakaar? That’s tree stories, one issue and a stunning cover by Planet Hulk artist Carlo Pagulayan!

If you thought Hulk was brutal in WWH, you’ve seen nothing like Caiera’s revenge story, said editor Mark Paniccia. The Illuminati is lucky she’s not the one who came out of the stone ship. Iron Man will loose his head when he meets her (literally). Plus there are a few other surprising tie-ins to the current mythos. The other two stories are brilliant. Greg went absolutely wild with these tales.

That’s three different outcomes for the Hulk straight from the man writing some of the most exciting stories in the character’s history! Greg Pak and friends bring you three stories that couldperhaps should have been featuring the Incredible Hulk as you’ve never seen him before! It’s What If? Planet Hulk and once you’ve finished this special extra-sized one shot, your jaw will be on the floor!

The Killing Joke action figure set

16 10 2007

Over at Superherotimes.com they have a preview image of coming in spring 2008 an action figure set from the Alan Moore and Brian Bolland classic Batman story “The Killing Joke“. Argulably the greatest Joker story ever written The Killing Joke is my personal favorite Batman story.

From the “no one in there right mind ever believed he was going to stay dead forever department”:

Steve Rogers, the Sentinel of Liberty, was cut down in a hail of gunfire in March’s CAPTAIN AMERICA #25. And whether or not you agree with the decision, he’s still dead. But a character as iconic and important as Cap can never truly die. Who better to reimagine Cap for a new age, a new character, a new costume, than Alex Ross? Working closely with Ed Brubaker, Steve Epting and Tom Brevoort, Captain America makes his return—or debut, if you prefer—in January’s CAPTAIN AMERICA #34.

We all knew he was coming back. It was going to happen but it would have been nice for Marvel to make his “death” last more then 10 issues! They should have kept people guessing for years. If they think his death caused a lot of press coverage maybe leaving him gone for a few years would have really be interesting.

Judge Death action figure review

5 10 2007

Once again Superherotimes.com has a complete review on the new Judge Death action figure from the Legendary Comic Book Heroes action figure line.

Judge Death from Judge Dredd has always been a favorite villain of mine. I would put him and Joker on the same level of insaneness. That level would be 1000 of course.

Peter David takes over She-Hulk

5 10 2007

One of the greatest writers to ever take on The Incredible Hulk now sets his sights on She-Hulk.

Does She-Hulk qualify as a comic book bad girl? She is definitely busty, but she was a lawyer also. I am at a loss on this one.
